“Will Covid-19 be used as an excuse to implement further state control?”

Question: “Will Covid-19 be used as an excuse to implement further state control?”

You mean, continue to be used?

First, The State said the Lock Down was to spare a Health System strain it would not bare. But then it turns out the load never came; We’re at 50% capacity when usually at 100%.

Next, The State said the Lock Down was about “flushing out the cases we already have.” Moving goalposts.

“Unprecedented social controls have been rapidly thrust upon us. The justification initially was not overloading intensive care facilities, but we have now moved beyond that to “flushing out the cases we already have”. The duration of the lockdown is uncertain. It is also unclear how much of a financial hit the country is willing to stomach.”- Simon Thornley, senior lecturer and epidemiologist at the University of Auckland; Do the consequences of this lockdown really match the threat?; Stuff

Now we’re getting to the paradox point of us being Locked Down in order to make sure police can enforce the Lock Down with more “ease.” It’s the macro-equivalent of being arrested for resisting arrest!

The Prime Minister has created a climate for the exercise of authoritarian power but in reaping that harvest she is in strong competition with the NZ Police. Other countries are experiencing the same thing as their uniformed Honour Culture slips its leash.

Ref. Are the police purposely trying to become the most hated group in the country?; Sargon; Facebook
