Dial 105 for Nash

From one already serviceable existing phone crew to a brand new one with a different phone number. Why?
The police are spending about $2 million on an “education” campaign to tell us the phone number. Why?
I know nothing. But my Anarchy brain just assumes that the Minister of Policing You, Stu Nash, is changing the phone number and personnel for political reasons.
To consolidate his power Nash is taking Police information from an old branch not under his control to a new one that is. Consider the huge flow of information coming in on these calls. Nash and his guys are thus also able to direct what is done with this information. Which police will be assigned to respond? Tasks can go to Nash’s officers rather than those loyal to less sympathetic factions within the New Zealand Police Force.
It may be that the old department was refusing on privacy grounds to share call information with politicians. The solution is to replace the department with a new one willing to play ball.
Dial 105 for Nash. The old call line, 0800 555 111 or *555, or whatever, probably still routes to the previous Minister of Police (Paula Bennett, Judith Collins)
No evidence for any of this that I know, of course. I’m just making Anarchistic and Libertarian common sense opinion comments.
