Politicians Grab Surveillance Cameras

December 2, 2019

By NZB3

Central Government is wresting control of the nation’s road surveillance cameras from The Police. Do we really want Big Government to have direct control over the eyes watching where we go?

“Documents obtained under the Official Information Act..In one document, detailed in emails from the Ministry of Transport, it says: “Police have proposed transferring safety camera management and operations to the Transport Agency …”- RNZ

The idea that any part of Government wants to shrink itself is ridiculous! They’re always seeking more power, not less. The MOT claim that “Police” themselves have “proposed” simply giving away the surveillance network they control…because it’s not ‘core function’ enough for these policing purists, apparently?

Labour 6.0, who do you think you’re fooling? Stuart Nash and Julie Anne Genter covet the cameras and are making their move.
