“Never been more than 11 COVID-19 patients in ICU at any one time”

The mainstream, aided by the media, aided by government PR, keep re-inforcing that narrative that a molecule is holding us hostage and not ourselves. ‘COVID means this,’ ‘Delta did that,’ or ‘Omicron means that..’ The truth has always been, as it always must be, that we are responsible for how we respond to any crisis (real or imagined.) Instead of making contact with reality by a personal responsibility discourse (eg Anarchist, at best) we shift the responsibility for a viral molecule. COVID did it! COVID made me! This is the language of Second Handers; The epistemology of Slave Culture.

A personal responsibility dialectic would look very different. We would say ‘We decided to nuke our economy for the sake of maintaining our health system.’ Or, more correctly, “..to mitigate potential, modeled, risks to our health system.” We would present it to ourselves and others as a voluntary choice, a trade-off, that we willingly made. We would own it and accept it as a choice. Instead we, an immature society, act as if we have no choices at all and our acts are the cause of external stimulus. We are not self-authors, we do not write our own life stories.

The truth is that we do. Humans can’t help it. We are individual autonomous agents and we do choose our own pathways. Nature does not. We are beings of volitional consciousness. Ah, but this also means that we can choose not to engage with reality. But that doesn’t mean it stops being true that how we meet our choices stops being a choice. What it means is that we have sanctioned someone else to swoop in and make those choices for us. And that’s why government as we know it exists: To swoop in and make decisions for us. Labour 6.0, and all the other support mechanisms of The State (including the Opposition) have been making our decisions and using the scapegoat of a molecular virus to excuse it.

Which came first? Political control or epistemological control? That’s easy: It’s epistemology. It’s our mental weakness in allowing other people to write our life’s script for us rather than make our own decisions. When you do that it’s only a matter of time before an opportunist comes along to boss you around. To govern those who were born to be self-governed. Statism is the scurge.

Masses of New Zealanders have taken a convoy from the far north to the far south of New Zealand and converged on parliament. They are aware enough that it is The State that is the cause of their troubles not a virus. It’s our reaction to the virus, not the virus, that is responsible for what happens to us in life. Meanwhile, the politicians refuse to front up to the encamped protesters. I was on parliament grounds on Friday and nobody else was there; I paid for parking. Today there are tents everywhere and the streets themselves are locked with thousands of parked cars! The media are helping too. Just this morning John Campbell for TVNZ took a tour of an EMPTY Middlemore Hospital. His spin? That the fact there were so few patients over time was due to the hard work of the medical staff! This is part of the artificial counter-narrative of crisis being put up against the mass protest in New Zealand (and Australia) inspired by the ongoing Canadian original convoy and protest camp.

“.. there has never been more than 11 COVID-19 patients in ICU at any one time. The vast majority of people who get COVID won’t need to go to hospital, let alone need an ICU bed.” – Government upgrades local hospitals throughout NZ, December 2021

Against this theater The Minister of Helath himself, Andrew Little (image top) has admitted that New Zealand has never even had more than 11 patients in intensive care at any one time. No wonder John Campbell can’t find any for his TV show! Yet this is the fear, along with mass body bags of dead, that we are supposed to be motivated by in order to submit.

I like the protest. It’s a step in the right direction. Yet, going to the politicians and begging them to stop will never be the answer to the problem outlined above. The trouble is the Statism within each of us. It’s not This Boss, it’s Bossing per se. The answer is not a change in government but a change of government. Slaves recognise an alpha in their life and beg them to make the decisions they prefer. Slaves also get upset and resentful when their alphas’ choices don’t work out for them. The Anarchist revelation is not to be a Slave, a beta, but to be the alpha in your own life. The best way to stop the Covid Government is not begging or protesting to a superior to set you free. It is to stop complying entirely or as much as you can right now today. To do that nobody ever needed to go to Wellington.
