Police Pursuit Policy
March 18, 2019

A small note on the policy of NZ Police cars hunting down runaways and smashing into them like Mad Max.
In a single year, 2016…
“New Zealand, which has a population of roughly the same size [as QLD,] saw 3323 police pursuits, resulting in seven deaths.”
Well, you can’t say that Mad Max skill set didn’t come in handy on the 15th of March. I read somewhere it was a couple of country cops who ploughed their own car into B.H. Tarrant’s and put a stop to his rampage. Perhaps this is the first time (1/3000th) going Road Warrior has been fully justified.
