History Cycle Pills?

Vince has taken a fair crack at trying to integrate the internet culture of Red/Blue/Black/White pill conceptions to Generational Theory. In writing the Anarchist History of New Zealand I lean heavily on Strauss–Howe generational theory as well as Moral Cultures.
If I’ve got this right, Red vs Blue Pilled is about being truth-tracking vs fantasy-tracking. You’re in Plato’s mind-prison cave (Blue) or you’ve seen the light (Red.) You’re the little boy saying the Emperor has no clothes (Red) or you’re sucking up to a streaking authoritarian ruler (Blue.)
Black and White are your own relationship to this perception. Black means you’re bitter and grim, White means you express optimism and positivity. If you’ve seen The Lego Movie, think of Black Wyldstyle the Gen X vs White Emmett the Gen Z whose song has such lyrics as..
Stepped in mud, got new brown shoes
It’s awesome to win and it’s awesome to lose
Everything you see or think or say is awesome
Dogs with fleas, allergies
A book of Greek antiquities
More about this cognitive and moral equivalency and its genesis in Generation Z here. The ‘pill’ terms are not ones I tend to use myself, although the Identity Protective Cognition of the Blue Pillers does fascinate me and I’ve got enough material to write a book about it.
“At some point, one would expect there to be a revolution so that some kind of Honour Culture reasserted itself, “
Neglecting mothers who do not attach to their offspring would usually raise up a generation of Honour Culture, almost feral, youth who raise hell and play Bullrush and Boy Race. As they come of age they would bring the society into balance by showing the females that there were brutes inside the society to be loyal to- no need to suck up to invaders or wear hijabs etc..
Thing is that all or most of these corrective HC kids were never even born. As Dubner and Levitt observed in chapter 4 of ‘Freakonomics‘, this time around those mothers had access to contraception and abortion. But our evolutionary biology doesn’t know that so keeps on sprinting off the cliff waiting for the bungee rebound that will never come.
Life finds a way though so the correction will happen in some other form. Perhaps for the better? But it’s going to be a big hard shock, and, you are living in it now.
