Jacinda and her Cabinet

If Auckland’s Alert Level decision was made days ago by Cabinet then why must we wait until noon on Friday?
It’s a riddle posed by Judith Collins and Chris Bishop of National but they already know the answer.
The answer is that Ardern pretends not to be an autocrat who makes Government decisions from the Prime Minister’s Office on the fly herself. Actually, she does.
Collins pretends not to know that and plays along with the pretense that these things are decided by democratic consensus by Ardern’s Cabinet at the big round table on the 9th floor.
Ardern thus is snookered between protecting the lie about Cabinet consensus or else protecting the lie she’s not an autocrat flying the country by the seat of her pants. Collins playing political chess and winning the game (the ‘Yes, And’ game, it’s called) but unfortunately it’s not just a game it’s all our lives being gambled with.
“The prime minister and top members of her Cabinet have already made their decision on a move to level 1- they met yesterday, 13 days after the last community case – but Ardern won’t reveal the decision until 11.30 this morning.”- ZB
The public is no more aware that this is all a show than they are of the current Royal fracas being the same.
Politicians and players know very well that information and pretense are their playthings. New MPs are learning on the job. Instead of exposing the big lies they learn to play along to get along. Anything else and they’d be declared an insane conspiracy theorist and be neutralised. Being an Anarchist, I can just tell you the truth.
