Kayfabe Army

‘In a surprising joint press statement today, the New Zealand Army and New Zealand Police and Julie Anne Genter all denied involvement in recent publicity photos.’
Of course they didn’t. But we are expected to believe three recent events were not part of at least three separate Public Relations desks in efforts to make the public like these three brands more. However, these are not spontaneous acts caught on camera at all. It’s no accident that these public people were “caught out” in acts considered impressive to the public that became national, even international, news stories.

Last year VJM Publishing asked a question: Should The Mainstream Media Abandon Kayfabe? Professional wrestling was a theatrical act disguised as a real fight long before it became televised and gave birth to ‘Reality Television’. Wrestling reached the point (in 1996) of revealing the fraud and proceeded from there as honest theater.
Back in 1980 Billy T James told the New Zealand wrestling audience that “I think I can answer a question that’s asked by thousands of armchair viewers: its all for real.” Just by acknowledging the question, Billy T was taking New Zealand a step closer to the Kayfabe End Game. That’s what it would be like, too, if the Army and Police and Genter all confronted the question of their being fake. So it is too with Health Theater and Security Theater practiced in our hospitals and airports. Part of any industry or community being in a Kayfabe situation is that everyone in it collaborates in not asking questions like these. Those who do are ostracised as being mad men. Usually they’re under-socialised children who have yet to learn better and must be assigned extra time in government schools or perhaps prescribed some drugs because they ‘suffer’ from ‘ADHD’ or ‘Oppositional Defiance Disorder’.
Cognitive Dissonance
In the story of The Emperor’s New Clothes it takes a child to point out the mass psychosis of the Kayfabe. When children ask how Santa is physically able to deliver so many gifts or how he can fly they are pushing against a Kayfabe. When a parent or a teacher bullshits their kid by making up or repeating nonsense they are powering up the Kayfabe force-field. It’s ‘good’ practise for growing up to live in your Kayfabe Country. Without preparations like these how would a citizen know to go along with the fake nightly news? Or, the fake security theater? Or, the nonsense of the Covid Crisis?
Fake is what it is and we all know it. The trick is to not know we know it. Got to be a zombie. Got to be disconnected from what we know so the Kayfabe can stay up but at the same time we need to know about it so that we can perform our part within it. Got to be unconscious, estranged, alienated, zombified, disconnected. The individual must be mentally ill in order for The State to be healthy.
Let me bring to consciousness what you already know. You already know that our emergency services system is not for children to make toy appointments with police. You already know that this is a criminal offence and that the child’s parents not being prosecuted was an arbitrary decision by law enforcement. You know what you have been shown is Police Public Relations presented as ‘news’. You know that this isn’t a rogue policeman or rogue journalist but that it was an operation organised by the PR department of the NZ Police. You know that an opportunity was taken, if not created from scratch, to boost the profile of the New Zealand Police.
You also know that long marches are routine for the New Zealand Army not an unprecedented accomplishment. You know that the Army treks around New Zealand tracks and bush all the time and has done so for all our history. You know that these idealistic photos of our coast-walking champions in camo didn’t take take themselves. Like the Police Toy Inspection, this event really happened and perhaps it even was the first time on that track too. But bragging about it has been a publicity exercise with the full consent and instigation of the NZ Army’s Public Relations Desk. The “supplied” photo did not come from some random tramping journalist on the sandy beach taking photos of nikau palms when an army company stopped by for a quick photo and an interview.
You also know that Green List MP Julie Anne Genter being photographed at 2am peddling herself into hospital while in labour is no accident. Again, the ‘story’ is on-brand with the politician’s message which is why she cooperated in making a spectacle of herself. The photo was provided by herself, via her Instagram account. This is not an “Oh shucks, guess you caught me being awesome.” situation any more than the army in the bush or the cops in the toybox.

Our institutions, the police and army and policy-makers and supermarkets and judges and entertainers and news-makers and teachers etc have increasingly adapted themselves be what the public rewards them for being. Sorry to see that even the army itself is doing this now, leaping on the self-publicity bandwagon following the lead of our Political Policemen. This was also and especially signaled in 2021 when a prize-winning anti-Woke essay was redacted by the army.
Ayn Rand called it ‘blanking out’, George Orwell called it ‘Double Think,’ and psychology calls it Cognitive Dissonance; Our ability to simultaneously hold mutually-contradictory information as true. It’s not innocent, it’s not uninformed. It takes a great deal of socialisation and deliberate, chosen, willfull ignorance and cooperation to be this deceived. It’s always around but right now in our current era the Kayfabe army is very very mainstream. It’s a viral outbreak. It takes more deliberate and chosen and willful effort to resist the wave of Kayfabe washing over New Zealand right now than to simply let the mainstream current carry you along.
That is why it’s a very dangerous time. We’re living in high zombieland days.
It is also why there is a great deal of glory to be had in fighting it and why the turn-around in the near future will be very much for the better. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. As the minority and “hip” or “cool” or (whatever incarnation of that idea it will soon come to be called) avant garde emerges it will be defined by now non-woke it is. How logical, how rational, how empirical. Tomorrow’s rebels and ‘anti-social’ people are today’s skeptics toward Group Think. We have a great new Englightenment and pro-Liberty era ahead of us provided we survive the crucible of the present!
