Police Training

April 28, 2025

Today in State News: Police launch wide-ranging investigation to find out why they approved recruits that couldn’t pass the physical test. Mystery?

The Anarkiwi opinion has a quick answer. Opinion subject to verification…

Many ‘recruits’, and tertiary ‘students’, for that matter are not part of these programs for their own good at all. They’re there to subsidise the other students- the true chosen ones; Actual recruits.

Each ‘recruit’ is seen as a bag of money. Someone has to buy over-priced stationary, boots, uniforms, accomodations, equipment, etc. and all from the Royal New Zealand Police College or their selected supplier.

You don’t get your money back if they fail you. In fact, you’ll probably get a nice participation certificate you can put on your CV and that should shut you up.

So it’s not just someone’s talent that is being recruited but their money. Either private or loaned. Police can never consider themselves to be funded enough and this is a way to rake in more cash which they will consider quite justified.

But go ahead. Pretend we don’t think this and conduct your investigation. ‘Oh dear, how could this have happened?’ etc..
