BBC newsreader changes ‘pregnant people’ to ‘women’ during Live broadcast

Good morning! Bunch of things to suggest our great Unravelling is starting to resolve itself and Woke is wrapping up.

Kicking off, “BBC newsreader Martine Croxall changes ‘pregnant people’ to ‘women’ during live broadcast” as shown in video clip on independent.co.uk

That might seem like a small thing outside of the context of mainstream media, of which the BBC is a leader, but it’s big. Rightly it is making headlines and sweeping the internet. This newsreader, Martine Croxall, actually over-rode her scripted programming to think for herself and evaluated on the fly that she would be safe in her career to do so.

Speaking of small signals, I next saw an advertisement for New World supermarket online shopping. A kid announced to his mother that he was “vegetarian now.” Mum broke the Fourth Wall and did another of these Martine Croxall eye-widening if not eye-roll if not cynical wink to the audience and carried on her online shopping. At first I thought she ought to have pushed back against her daffy kid but then I thought that the long game she was playing at letting them make their own mistake but not being fooled for a second was a great parenting decision. I want to see this advert a second time.

Next, I turned to the radio news to hear the following: “Green taxes on energy are going to be scrapped for businesses to try and get the economy going. That could cut their bills by up to a quarter from 2027. It’s part of the government’s 10-year industrial strategy, which also has a big boost for scaling up UK workers in growth areas like technology.” – radio news. Ref. Guardian (22 June 2025)

Calling it a Green Tax or Green Levie seems highly derogatory, similar to “Fart Tax.” Clearly the politicians can now see that the fad for luxury beliefs is passing and people want to get back to survival and productivity. The old Green brand will go down with the old ship it was tied up to.

Finally, just as I was thinking of all of this, Leo Molloy appeared on my feed making the following comments…

We are definitely totally shifting away from Wokeism. I think the world has taken a firm step.

…Keir Starmer looked like he was a very strong left supporter, some of the things he’s been doing overnight would suggest that he’s starting to get candle held to his nuts and he’s starting to feel the heat of it, because he’s starting to act now how you’d expect a normal, sensible, centre-right type politician to act.

So even the good journalists in New Zealand, like Guyon Espiner, one of those sort of people, even they’re saying to the subject they’re interviewing, do you not have any desire to genuflect to the fact the whole world is stepping back from Wokeism?

I mean, Wokeism is an awful fucking disease. It was brought here largely by, and it’s embraced and promoted by Jacinda Ardern. But generally speaking, it’s been creeping around the world, around the fringes of Western democracy for probably about 15 years now. And we’ve got to shake it off. We’ve got to find something else to embrace because it’s not functional, it’s not productive and it simply doesn’t work in our world.
